Home energy management carries on cutting bills when boiler scheme fails

Scottish old boiler schemeThe new scheme whereby Scottish people would be given cash to help buy and fit new, energy efficient boilers to replace old or faulty models has been condemned because the money has run out within a couple of days. The Boiler Scrappage Scheme from the Scottish National Party Government was approved in the February budget but was not introduced until a month ago. Members of the Scottish Parliament complained that in England and Wales there was a voucher worth up to £400 each for every 400 people, but in Scotland there was only money available for one voucher for every 1000 people.

For those households who have missed out, there is a quicker and cheaper solution – make your boiler more efficient by adding a home energy management system. This will lower your fuel bills because the microprocessor in the controller adjusts the heating and the hot water, so you are kept warm and use the least amount of fuel.

The system can also be integrated with and control a form of alternative energy that is ‘green’ and saves you money on bills. A glass vacuum solar collector module will use the energy from the sun to provide hot water heating free of charge. In most cases this will be enough for 70 per cent of domestic use.
