Cut household bills and carbon footprint with energy controller
A Parliamentary committee has cautioned the Government that its legally binding pledges on climate change will not be met when the economy recovers. It warned the rate of reduction will not be adequate to achieve the 34 per cent cut in carbon dioxide (on 1990 levels) by 2020, to which the Government is already committed – let alone the 42 per cent to which Britain will move if a tougher target is agreed with the EU. Only a renewed effort, brought about by new policies, will meet the target according to the independent Committee on Climate Change.
A way of cutting your household fuel bills and reducing your home’s carbon footprint is to install an effective Building Energy Management System which monitors and controls the boiler and central heating. The apparatus often pays for itself in less than a year but almost always in less than three years. Use the controller, produced by companies like HeatingSave, as a stand-alone; or link to your PC to see graphs of savings, kilowatt-hours used and CO2 produced. The system also integrates with and controls glass evacuated tube solar hot water heating units to make a double saving on fossil fuels.
